Befriending Rocks!

Unfortunately this event has had to be postponed due to a problem with the venue but the gig WILL take place at a later date - please keep checking this page for further information.

Befriending Rocks will be a free gig, organised by Befriending Networks - an evening of both original and well-loved rock music in the company of two of the finest live bands around, Panda Trap and Chil to celebrate the HUGE achievements of befriending services throughout the country! It promises to be a great night out for anyone involved in befriending.

Volunteers received certificates and visitors were interested to hear about the work of the befriending project.

Laughter Workshop

Laughter for Health logoTo mark the first Befrienders Week, Queensferry Churchesí Care in the Community organised a social evening on Friday 9th November 2012 which included a Laughter Workshop. The evening concluded with supper and refreshments.

We wanted an event that would recognise the much valued volunteering work that our 24 Befrienders undertake, we chose the Laughter workshop because it mirrors the benefits that our volunteer befrienders achieve for their befriender: physical and mental wellbeing, increased confidence and self esteem and lowered stress levels.

Jo Bluett from Laughter For Health ran the workshop.
